The future of the Hastings International Chess Congress is assured for another year thanks to the support of Hastings Borough Council. At a meeting on 2nd March 2013, it was confirmed that the Borough Council would once again sponsor the event.
Dates for a 9-round Masters Tournament were set from 28th December 2013 to 5th January 2014. During this period there would also be a 4-round Christmas Tournament, 5-round New Year Morning and New Year Afternoon events as well as the 31st Hastings Weekend congress.
Con Power, Congress Director, said that the organisers were extremely grateful to Hastings Borough Council for their continuing support.
