We are pleased to announce that it is the intention of the sponsors and organisers of the Caplin Hastings International Chess Congress to run an over-the-board event at Horntye Park Sports Complex if the Covid-19 situation permits. We are delighted ro announce that Caplin Systems will once again be the prime sponsor of the event, with Hastings Borough Council also continuing to support the event as it has done for many years..
The planned Congress will take place between 29th December 2021 and 9th January 2022 and will include 10-round Masters tournament, Christmas, New Year and Weekend events as in previous years. Discussions have taken place with Horntye Park regarding necessary Covid-19 safety measures to comply with government and medical requirements at the time.
It is not possible to provide any further details or confirm the event at the present time as the Covid situation is still changing frequently, but further updates will appear on this website, and a decision will be made at a later date. Should be event not be able to take place an online event may be organised instead. Keep well and check this website regularly. We hope that we will be able to welcome players back to Hastings.
